My journey with Nature is one of my longest and strongest relationships.
My whole family grew up camping and being outdoors in nature. Whether it was fishing trips with my dad to RV shindigs with my grandparents and all of my mom's side of the immediate family, we spent a lot of time in nature. I am so grateful for this. It began the conversation, me and nature.
As time went on, I began to realize just how sacred Nature felt to me. I could tell it anything and it would listen and also hold my confidence. I could use a hike to get some anger out. I could sit and listen to the leaves telling me secrets. One thing was certain, I could count on Nature to provide for me in a different way than any other relationship. It felt this way from the beginning. The sacred stillness that soothes something within, this to me feels like God or what I imagine God to feel like.
I had taken photography in High School as an elective credit one semester or maybe quarter. Besides it just being a sweet hang out with friends, it opened me up to a world of shots. Now, I could have cared less about the class; at the time, it was just hanging with friends. I really enjoyed it, Thanks Mr. Lee, Santa Rita Eagles, Tucson. Regardless of how much I cared at the time, some of the concepts we learned and discussed is evident to me in my shots today. Nature is my forever muse, companion, teacher, and most importantly, healer.
